Are there possibly any services that your car has missed out on? Miller Auto Care doesn’t want you to be caught off guard about some of these important but easy to forget maintenance services.
Flush and Refill of Brake Fluid
Very few car owners realize that brake fluid does periodically need to be flushed and refilled. That’s because like all fluids that circulate in your car’s different systems, brake fluid eventually picks up dirt and debris. It also breaks down and isn’t as effective as it should be. Replacing the old fluid with fresh can resolve that issue.
New Transmission Fluid
Your car’s transmission fluid definitely needs to be replaced periodically and it’s easy to forget about it until the transmission starts to have problems. Flushing and refilling the transmission fluid is a service that is listed in the owner’s manual of your car, so if you’re following that schedule closely, you may already know when it needs to be done for your car.
Fresh Antifreeze
As with other fluids, sometimes the antifreeze, or coolant, also needs to be flushed out of the cooling system and replaced with fresh fluid. When you do this according to schedule, it helps your car’s engine to have what it needs to avoid overheating. Topping up your coolant helps, but over time the coolant picks up debris that it doesn’t need at all.
Replacement Timing Belt
Your car’s timing belt is not a forever piece of equipment. It can last a really long time, but it does need to be replaced. And it’s always better to replace the timing belt rather than to experience one breaking. That can cause a lot of damage. Double check the owner’s manual for information about when your timing belt is recommended to be replaced.
New Battery
Your car’s battery won’t last forever, either. If the battery is already over three years of age or older, you’re most likely going to need to seriously consider replacing it. Another option is to get the battery tested to see what kind of condition it’s in. You can baby a battery and help it last longer than the minimum recommended timeframe.
